Hudson Yards is the largest development in New York City in almost 100 years; a self-contained neighborhood with residential, office and commercial buildings, shops, restaurants, a creative hub, parks, playgrounds and a school. Two cogeneration plants — with switchgear from Turtle & Hughes — form a smart microgrid, which is designed to keep the complex running, even in the event a power outage.
One of the world’s largest financial institutions opened a new Mission Critical/Data Center in the New Jersey and needed a package that combined the strengths of three manufacturers to meet rigorous requirements. Turtle & Hughes’ customized solution provides an impressive 20MVA of power and supports our customer’s need for high-speed connectivity, reliability and security.
The tragic attacks of September 11, 2001 rocked our nation to its core, resulting in an unprecedented level of heartbreak and destruction. Turtle & Hughes had the honor of playing a key role in the rebuilding, providing expertise in power distribution management to Towers One and Four and the World Trade Center Chiller Plant, as well as power distribution and ventilation smoke exhaust systems to the Transportation Hub, and lighting in 14 floors of offices in Tower Four.
